Competition: "Guess the Graduation"

After the great success achieved by the “guess the high school grade” in 2001, now the competition goes on with “guess the PG Bachelor final mark (and its session!)”.
In 2001 Mr. Tontini Andrea (who eventually became Rag. Brondini and then Doctor Branzini) won a free dinner betting on my “91/100”. Now the winner can be YOU! A free dinner is waiting for you, and some lower prizes may be available as well!
Take part into the competition is easy and... FREE! Basically you can’t lose anything! Just follow the easy rules and... fingers crossed!
-Competition entries can be done from 02/10/2007 to 02/11/2007;
-Every participant can ONLY make A prediction, either on the blog in Italian or the one in English;
-All the predictions will be associated to ONE participant (the first one to bet “gets” both mark and session he/she has indicated à Two people can not bet on the same combination mark+session) in EACH website;
-Predictions can only be made either on www.dexterh46.splinder.com or on www.australia2007.splinder.com, leaving a comment at the end of this post indicate at least the initials of your name and surname (or a nickname, or something to identify you), further than the prediction of course!
-In case none bets the exact combination, the victory will be assigned to the closest mark, regardless of the session (which will become important in case there are two predictions with the same mark).

Hints:
-Final mark can vary from 66/110 to 110L/110 (110L stands for 110/110 plus a special appreciation on my work)
-My UG Bachelor final mark has been 101/110.
-You can choose among the following sessions: December 2007, January 2008, March 2008, June 2008, July 2008, December 2008, January 2009, March 2009.
-On 30th September 2007 I have gained 77 credits out of 120. Final projects worths 18 credits since it’s supposed to be a huge one. I am waiting for the validation of 30 further credits (don’t worry if the sum will be higher than 120);
-I still have to take a compulsory exam (6 credits) and start my final project (in case the validation will be positive, otherwise more exams to take, one every 6 credits not validated).
-Every April I have to pay 2000 Euro of taxes if I haven't graduated before that month.

16th July – Souvenirs

“God Forgives, I do not”, is a popular sentence from a movie.
I must admit that sometimes it applies to me as well.
Everytime someone did something wrong, I added this place, company, or whatsoever in my black list.
And since I am a non-violent one, the only way for me to have something back was what Homer Simpson called in one of the sketches, “souvenir”. Please note that all the items shown here are "borrowed".

February – 333 Club (George St.):
Bouncer: “Wait, you can’t go upstairs”
Me: “Why? My friends are there, what’s wrong with me?”
B: “You can’t go with those shoes”
M: “Is it a matter of how I look like or a matter of my behaviour, being drunk or so, which I am not? Are you seriously saying it’s for my shoes, paid much more than any flip-flop wore by many girls upstairs?”
B: “Okay, you can go, enjoy your time”
M: “Thanks mate”.
This time I did not get anything... I still was too much good.

April – La Cita Club (Darling Harbour):
Bouncer: “Sorry man, you can’t get in”
Me: “What’s wrong with me?”
B: “There is a dress code here”
M: “Really? Last week I had exactly the same clothes, but I could get in. How comes?”
B: “It’s management decision”
M: “Okay, I am just asking why last week yes and today no, since I have got exactly the same stuff on. Tell me what’s the real problem, if any, and I go away”
B: “I can’t do anything, it’s management decision”
M: “Okay, let me speak with the manager, who will change idea if he/she wants some customers next week”
B: “Okay, get in, but next time don’t put me in trouble”
M: “It’s not my fault”.
This time I did not forgive. A glass as a souvenir. Deserved.

Then how could I forgive UTS and their jokes against me? Mugs mugs mugs... souvenirs! More than ten. I could not accept the sentence " Please provide official documentation to support your case (i.e. Death Certificate) within 3 working days" which I found outrageous. Here you are a mug, but I offered them as gifts to some friends as well. Deserved.

Finally the 2hours delay in KL made me missing the MotoGP race live. A pillow and a cover from my plane. Deserved.

12th July – Aussie Balance

If I have to make a balance, what should I say? Something like what the Doctor said when he lost his championship in 2006...
“I’ve made some mistakes, then I tried to push but I did not succeed.”
“It has been my fault... on my third experience abroad I thought I was invincible, but invincibles only exist in comics.”
“I had to declare my feelings much earlier, I would have arrived more relaxed in June when the hardest time came.”
“If I would have managed to stay as I wanted (ie. not falling in love), all this mess would have not happened, but you cannot control such a deep feeling.”
“Unfortunately the whole period went this way. At least I can say I tried my best with all the troubles I had.”
“I may be happy for the exam results, but I cannot forget the first defeat in the world history in an Italy-Austria challenge as my Italian friend Fabio suggested me. And it has not been the only defeat I suffered”.
“I hope to have my way back if I will have another academic chance abroad, or when I will come to Australia again. I cannot let my dreams of this place ending in this way.”

AFTER LEAVING
A countless of  "I miss you", which in some way enhanced my sorrow.

BEFORE LEAVING
"We certainly enjoyed your company (...) and if you come back, let us know!"
"Thanks Iurij for keeping in touch. (...) That's sad that you are leaving soon"
"I am so sad we cannot see each other before you leave"
"Thanks for being so kind and thoughtful, it was great meeting you"
"It was great to meet you"
But the greatest, more complex one, was the following, written by my French friend I would have met the following day in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia... he probably really understood the whole story...
"You should have put a candle in St Peter on ur way, can't believe the bad luck you had in Oz. And still you managed to meet plenty of people, see plenty of places drink too much and too often and screw up your finance exam. Now I'd like to see what the italiani is able to do under normal conditions!"

4th July - *** Australian Souvenirs ***

Hi everybody! A short notice for those who sometimes come here and read... if you want me to bring you something from either Australia or Malaysia (things I can bring, don't make impossible requests!) please let me know in time and I'll try my best. Some friends have already ordered (and made promises to pay shortly!) boomerangs, road signs, coins, sugar small bags, and so on... it's your time now!

18th May – The Doctor will come back

More than one month has passed from the last update.
The “problem” is still there, at its place. My fault I reckon, I say, I admit. But “when you fall the important is to get up again, and try back until the end”.
University mid-semester exams have been taken in the second half of April.
I've managed to have a pride reaction and study for a couple of nights (yes, nights, either going to bed or waking up at 4.30) since I could not concentrate at all during the day.
I've attended the exams, minimising the injuries, which is what you have to do when there is something wrong you cannot fix because it does not depend entirely by you.
You will understand everything, just keep reading the pages of this blog, which will come back being updated. Some of you asked me to do so, and I don’t say no to my friends. Thanks to all those who have waited for me in this period. The Doctor will come back. Wounded, but will come back.

16th April - Blog interruption

Blog update is interrupted for an undetermined time due to an overload of University work and some further personal problems.
I will hopefully be back soon.

(Questa volta, vista la situazione, trovate la traduzione completa nei commenti sottostanti).
